The audit (Pro)
Find and fix accessibility issues on your store
The audit runs Google Lighthouse's accessibility checks on your store and turns the results into a to-do list written for Shopify.
- A score out of 100 for your home, product, collection or cart page, on mobile or desktop
- Every failing check, ranked by how many points fixing it adds
- Its impact (critical, serious, moderate or minor) and the WCAG criterion and level it maps to
- Fix steps written for Shopify, tagged with where to make the change: Shopify admin, theme editor or theme code
- Each affected element, with its code, and for contrast problems the current and required ratio
Setup
Switch it on in your theme editor
Install the app
From the Shopify App Store. It asks for no access to your store's data.
Switch on the app embed
One toggle in your theme editor. The app's home page links straight to it.
Match your brand
Pick the widget's color, icon, position and size, and check it in the live preview.
Publish your statement
Edit the ready-made accessibility statement. Shoppers open it from the widget.
What the app doesn't do
- It doesn't make your store compliant on its own. No app can; fixing the issues the audit finds is what moves you toward WCAG 2.1 AA.
- It doesn't change your theme's code for you. The audit tells you what to change and where.
- It doesn't use AI, and it doesn't read your customers' data.

Questions
Is installing the app enough to meet WCAG?
No app can do that on its own, and you should be wary of any that says it can. The widget gives shoppers tools to adjust your store to their needs. The audit shows which accessibility issues your theme has, which WCAG criteria they affect and how to fix them in Shopify. Fixing those issues is what moves your store toward WCAG 2.1 AA.
Do I need to edit code to install it?
No. You switch the widget on as an app embed in your theme editor. Some audit fixes are made in the theme editor or the Shopify admin; a few need a change to theme code, and the audit says which.
Will it slow my store down?
The widget loads with your theme from Shopify's servers, and its settings are saved in your theme, so a page view never waits on our servers.
Which pages does the audit check?
The audit is part of Pro. It checks your home page, a product page, a collection page or the cart, on mobile or desktop, with Google Lighthouse's accessibility checks, and lists every failing check with its impact, its WCAG criterion and Shopify-specific fix steps.
Does the app read my customers' data?
No. The app asks for no Shopify data permissions at all. Shoppers' widget choices are saved in their own browser.
What does Pro cost?
Starter is free. Pro is $10 a month after a 7-day free trial, billed through Shopify, and adds the audit, the screen reader, color controls, a custom trigger and editable translations.
